Electric Flour Sifter—Con-cha-dee!!

This post is a tribute to my late Uncle John who invented the word “conchadee.” I am not even sure if that’s how he intended to spell it. My interpretation of the word is as follows. When something is “conchadee,” it is unique, maybe not so practical and something you could do without but a novelty nonetheless.

Years ago I received an electric flour sifter as a gift from a good friend, former roommate and baker. It is operated on batteries and I didn’t use if for a long time. I found it cleaning out cabinets this past year and now use it every time I bake.

I love it– mostly because it’s conchadee.  I could blend and sift flour by hand but this does a great job and the batteries are lasting forever. Thanks, Kathy!

That is awesome. I don’t recall hearing him use that word, but it does not surprise me in the least. That was totally his personality. Your post was timely, I’ve been thinking about him a lot this week as we lost my father in law last week. Thanks!
